Seems cool and different, but I’m starting to wonder if I should just stick with a SB since nearly everyone seems to agree the SB is smoother.

Does the DC really add to the experience, or is it more of a versatility thing?

After re-reading this entire thread a few times, I’m now doubting my initial idea.

Now thinking about a .80 SB in basic polish (so I can exchange handles with my WR2).

I haven't regretted my DCs. I have 2 WR1 DCs, and 1 WR2 DC. I also have 1 CG DC. What I found is that even when I shave with an SB or an OC I tend to forget that I can do both sides and I rinse more often as if it were a dual comb.

I like the idea of doing the first pass with the OC side, taking off the lion's share, and following up to finish with the gentler (I think) SB. I have, early on used a DC as if it was a standard razor, but once I got into the OC for the first pass I stuck with it. I really like that method.

All of my DCs are the same gap on either side, except my WR2 115OC/125SB. My rational with getting the smaller gap on the OC side being the premise that an OC is more aggressive than an SB, so it made sense (to me) to put the smaller gap on the more aggressive side. YMMV.  Rolleyes

Handle question...

On the “hollow” handles, is there a hole on the bottom, or does he some how cap it?

Does anyone here prefer the hollow option?

Thanks

There is no visible hole in the hollow handles and they look identical to the solid handles, just lighter. Search “James Dufour CNC” On YouTube if you would like to see how they are made... Quite fascinating.

I have solid WRH1 and WRH2, the #1 is a custom 95mm and is fairly heavy so I ordered a hollow #2 this time round. I have tried the Darwin which is much lighter and works better for me, so hollow was the obvious choice. Of course some enjoy heavy handled razors.

I only have a hollow WRH2 and a Darwin, so I can’t really compare.  I will say the hollow handle reminds me of a titanium in weight.  I like it a lot.

I prefer the hollow handle on the WR2 head. I’m undecided with the WR1 head. It feels a little light with the hollow handle, but it’s a little handle heavy with the solid handle. I usually decide based on mood

Yeah that's a real bummer!
