Thanks, I thought it looked to have more a shine and brighter compared to pictures of the older brushed finish. It's pretty hard to judge without pictures of each finish on the Wolfman site.

This is a pic I took awhile back. On the left a WR2/WRH7XL the upcharge brushed satin, center a WR1 .74 DC/Darwin, and to the right a Guerrilla with what I think is basic brushed. I also have a basic polished, not pictured, and it is very nice.

Do you mean the brushed Satin for an upgrade of $150 or do you mean “matte” the no additional premium finish?

Here’s what it looks like in matte, NOT brushed Satin the 150 upgrade

This razor, which was part of a large trade is now cerokoted in black......

Hope this helps your decision

Please post a picture of the black version.
Ven, unfortunately the new owner never sent me an image however I’ve emailed him, I’ll post when he responds

I’m curious myself to see the Darwin in black. I have seen a cerokoted Wolfie on Reddit which looks really good, and where the original idea came from. The person did the base plate in a purple-ish colour which is pretty cool. It’s the satin-ish colour I liked, no gloss, but not a true matte

The brushed satin “is” very much an upgrade. The Hobo Polish (basic matte) “is not” an upgrade, right LOOT? Lolololololol

I mean versus the old brushed finish... when only two choices were available, not your new category of hobo polish!

The one on the left is the same as the 'old brushed finish.' I don't have any now, but have had them in the past. Really very attractive AFAIC.

Thanks for the photo Jimmy. I really like brushed finishes and think I'll go for that. I have a mirror/old polish already but brushed is more my style.

Does cerakote change the blade gap? I know it's really thin, but would it have a minor effect? That black razor is really cool. I postponed an SS list order. Maybe I'll revive it and have a razor finished in a crazy color.

I would think it would. Just as I believe over polishing a razor will effect the quality of the shave, marginally.

The question is .,. will it marginally change it for the better or the worse ? I've opened the gap slightly on a Guerrilla, and an Ikon slant for the better. Seems to me changing the gap to more exposure would improve the shave. YMMV.

For better or worse, you will have a cool one-off wolfman razor with a blade gap/exposure that no one else has.
