Anyone who thinks a Wolfman razor is a gimmick has probably never owned one. But maybe you should keep spouting how experienced you are and how clueless the rest of us are.

you do not have to own one to think this razor is just a novelty and I can afford to buy one I chose not to get on this novelty train. I am not knocking anyone that owns one as it is there choice, but I do not understand why there is such a fuss over this razor. Seriously $400 for head and handle and I place Wolfman and the One Blade Genesis in the same category the most expensive and most overrated razors on the market.

Just out of curiosity, have you ever tried a Wolfman or a one blade? Calling them overrated must come with some experience. I bought my Wolfman razors before the price increase. Which in USD was around 250. Now they are slightly above 300. Timeless and charcoal are around 225

Wolfman website price of 425 CAD = 325 USD (give or take and exchange rate variances) which I believe is higher than Charcoal and Timeless.

I currently own a Charcoal Goods razor. Someday I would like to add both a Timeless, and Wolfman razor.

I tried One Blade Genesis V1 and V2 there is no complaints it is a nice razor and shaved great. I am not trying to start any ill feelings I just think $400 is just way to high for SS SE razor.

Now the Wolfman I have not tried and I take everyone's word it is a great shave, but again is it worth $400? The point I making is not to trash talk anybody who owns one it just a razor selling for $400 is to me a novelty or a razor just for collectors. I will shut up now since this seems to be a sensitive subject when it comes to Wolfman razors in this forum.

I kind of agree with you that it isn't the shave that makes the wolfman so sought after. Just like a cheap timex or casio can tell you the time better than a $9000 rolex stainless steel submariner but people still buy the Rolex. In fact you cannot buy a new one from any dealer at list price without a lengthy waiting list.
The wolfman is sought after because of the jewel like finish and attention to detail. I don't have one but would like to buy one at some time.

I had a chance to get on the list to get a Wolfman back about almost 3 years ago. They didn't cost as much at that time and could kick myself now for not going for it. I would still love to have one, but I don't know if it's in the cards for me. It's not that I can't afford it. It has more to do with priorities for me now. But, I can't tell anyone else what it is worth to them and wouldn't try.

Even with all of that said, Wolfman is still on my wish list.

I bought mine about the same time you passed yours up. As I recall, the price was significantly cheaper than it is now, and was not nearly as big a deal as it is now. Interesting.

These razors have an inspired design for the asking price, shave great, come with no baggage or pretentious drama, and are shipping now from any number of online stores:

Here is one that looks like something James freakin' Bond would use:

Some of the above cost less than $30 and all cost less than $140. And you are worried about getting a fancy razor at a reasonable price? Best of all, people won't think you are nuts for massively overpaying for a razor.

Ultra-unavailable razors hand-forged in a mountain cave by artisan elves, quenched in dragon's blood and washed with unicorn tears, have their place. They are attention-getting tools for their owners. If it is the "hey everyone, look at me" thing you are into, then maybe they make sense. Otherwise, there are plenty of great alternatives.

EDIT: Did not feel like my post helped anything here so I am taking the content out. In the end I think it only fanned flames. Bad idea.

Nicely done! I'm really happy with the WR1 I got back a few years ago so I'm going to settle on that.
