Wolfman Razors

I've had my OC for just over a week and I have 4 shaves with it. I didn't request any special aggressive work for it. With all my shaves I felt it shaves alot like a SC NEW. It shaves at a steeper angle compared to the BBS-1. An ATT R1 is more aggressive for me. Wolfman OC is smoother. It wont cut as close and as much on a pass compared to the R1, but it is smoother. I use polsilvers btw. It's smoother than the BBS-1 too. I really like it. My friend's son in law is thinking of getting a Feather ASD2. But I was going to give him a NEW LC. Instead, I think I will recommend this razor. It would have the stainless steel he's looking for and the shave quality of a NEW

I will look out for the vid, and very interested in how it compares to the S2.  I use the S2 exclusively right now and plan on getting the OC Wolfman when it becomes available.

You may want to get on his wait list. I was on the last list for 4 months before I got an email. And he stated that the list is deep enough that he couldn't put any to sell on his website.

Those of you who have tried Wolfman Razors, what are your general thoughts on them?  I recently acquired a Wolfman OC head and I like it quite a bit.  I think it's of Above The Tie Quality and has provided for some really nice shaves so far.

I'm on the wait list. I like the ATT M1 and R1 a lot, the M1 is my favorite DE. Eager to see your video.

I will also chime in and say that James will adjust the aggressiveness. So if u prefer an aggressive razor he can ramp it up a bit. It truly is top notch service!

Wow, that is very nice.

I like the Wolfman razors alot. I have to give them the nod over the ATT ones but just a little. I find the Wolfman's smoother and more efficient than the ATT''s and I used all the plates except the S2. I have all three of the Wolfman heads but mainly used the DC (dual comb) one as that gave me a chance to try both combs out with only one razor to test. I think they are very efficient and I would say they are between the R1 and H1 in my opinion and closer to the H1 side than the R1 side but a little.

I decided to send them back in to Wolfman to have the blade gap changed to make them a little more aggressive in nature and at that point I think they will be perfect. The combination of being so smooth and efficient with the added bump in aggression should make it the perfect razor for me!

I am not knocking ATT's at all, I still own some of the plates and love their quality and the shaves I get with the plates. My main daily driver was the H1 plate and like the Wolfman open comb side of the Dual Comb, I can get a DFS/BBS with two passes and some minor touch up! This is what I used to reference them to the ATT H1 as that is the same shave using the same passes and touch up for the most part but just didn't feel quite as smooth/efficient to me.

Thanks for the post on this. I placed an order for the dual head with handle. It'll be a while before it is ready to ship but it looks interesting and while I am not a big DE user, I do like the dual head concept. On those mornings when I wake up at 5am having not shaved before bed I grab a DE as I just am too sleepy to do anything with a straight and know I will live to tell about it.

Wait, a flat DE blade is more rigid?  That is the complete opposite of my experience.

My experience has been that slanted DE blades have more torsion on them and thus chatter and flex less, which is why I tend to prefer slants. If Wolfman made a slant, that would have been my choice, but I keep hearing that something about the head geometry of his designs keeps the blades more rigid than other straight-bar DEs, so I'm very interested in them overall.

Ok Will, we are on the same page then. Interesting to hear the head design may make it more rigid too. I know the Mongoose did the same compared to the Cobra.

Slants were the only DEs that somewhat worked for me & I remember how terrible the flat blade in the R41 was for me.

I could not agree more about blade rigidity. The R41 was terrible for me. For me chatter usually equals irritation especially on my neck.

Hi. I was thinking of upgrading my razor to a open comb. What I would like to know, is the what the real difference between the Muhle R41 to the Wolfman or the ATT S2 as in regards to the shave.

This thread is a bit stagnant so I figured it's time for a bump. Plus, I'm new to this forum.
