Wolfman Razors Price Increase?

But also u can get a custom razor. Having the aggression turned up or down is to me worth paying a bit more. I do understand that it may b out of reach for some and that does suck. For those wanting an amazing shaver it's a well crafted machine. Take it up a bit and it's a rad killer. Well for some it would b mine can never b cured!

I think there is definitely a market for a $300-400 razor, especially if it has custom elements, sort of like the Scottie Cameron putters.  

Just to put things into perspective, Rolex sells 800,000 watches a year and their entry level watches cost $6-7K.  Based on what I've seen from James' finishing, they are definitely worth what he is charging, if not a lot more.  He is only looking to make and sell 300-600 razors a year so I doubt it will affect his demand, my guess is it might actually increase his demand and make them more desirable.  I personally know what goes into making a high polished stainless razor and his prices are very fair.

I'm personally a big fan of James' work and I know he's going to be successful.

Just to be clear, I'm not throwing a fit about the price and I think he has every right to charge whatever he likes.   For me personally it's not an issue because if I want a $300 razor I'll just pluck down the cash and get one.  With that said, part of the enjoyment of this hobby for me is seeing other people obtain gear that changes their shaving experience.  This would be in the super premium price and a lot of folks will never try it based on the price alone.  This is a shame because it's a great razor

I think that the high end razor market has always been there, however the middle market is what continues to grow and what gets people to make the conversion.

I don't think at this price I would be interested, there are too many avenues that are more affordable. And I'm not knocking it I'm sure the work rhllthat goes into this is worth the price, but with that much money I could get a lot of brushes, soaps, aftershaves etc.

Just joined the forum after watching your sofa sessi... I mean love seat sessions. Funny how I've been into the hobby about one year now and have never heard of this razor. Still experiencing things even after a while. Love it. But these razors are truly beautiful. The handles look superb. Unfortunately it is already out of my price range but the increase does take it way beyond. FOR ME..same spot as the other person up there. Only a college kid and don't have a good career yet so it might just take this out of my reach. Love that the artisan maker is willing to do custom work though. I am just excited to see all the different designs people come up with.

I also am thrilled when a artisan gets to pursue his art, but as a somewhat new shaver, I am just at that place where I would like to move up in gear.  I was actually on the forum to research what might be my next razor.  As much as I would like one, It will not be Wolfman's.  I just can't afford it.  With Chris touting the wonders of ATT and Wolfman's, I was looking at Above The Tie last night and tonight it was Wolfman's.  Both are out of reach for the moment and that is a shame but my search will go on.
