Supposedly the wr1 has less blade exposure than the wr1 .54 and .61 I think??

If you find a gap that suits you perfectly without having to buy and sell several times, consider yourself very lucky.

Take a look at the Guerrilla for another alternative. Maybe the 2 plate stainless option for a bit of variety.

I re-read your post. I agree many not just here but everywhere lots of people are getting higher gaped wr2.  At what point does it become a potato peeler and not a shaver.  I must be in the minority, I cannot handle large gapped razors, especially atg the blade wants to snag the hair and not slice it .  I even read of guys using wr2 1.55 at a steep angle. How could one go atg on the mustache at  a 1.55 gap and at a steep angle, i will never understand?! Thats why its a ymmv....

'potatoe peeler' We may be a minority. I much prefer gaps below 90.....with neutral or very minor to negative exposure. My skin is tough, coarse beard, been wet shaving for decades, and I like to do full three passes - and for me, the blades that work with my razors, my shave angles, and face structure, the 'mild' heads are more pleasurable and I don't have to be careful. I can manage more efficient razors but i must be tuned in with my pressure, my jaw bone angle, etc. Find what you like and use it! I woefully have discovered that the WR1 heads are not favored by my preferences and predilections - The WR2 95 probably would have been better for me. Daaaang

Yeah i am still on the fence.  I got the Lupo .58 on loan its a smooth efficient shaver. I was told a Lupo .58 is a dupe of wr1. But two other guys say the Lupo is tame compared to the wr1 .61..   Based on my reading lots of guys seem to like the wr2's best, must be something special about that head..

I have the wr1 wolfie.... And it is not mild 't all. I stayed away from the wr2 as I like the Tech style nimble head stack height.

Looks like I need to get on the Wolfie wait list again.

My skills are not as exemplary as yours Bluegrass. It is the exposure that does me in. I think my shaving angle is better suited for neutral exposure heads. I don't get comfortable shaves with the wr1. Got to lessen my angle I reckon.

I certainly wasn't challenging ya Daddy. Just adding another perspective. Sounds like the WR2 may be a great razor as well. Problem is it's a steep blind buy. Wish I had one to loan you to know if it's a fit for ya !

Bluegrass, I know you and took absolutely no offense. I truly know it is my shaving mechanics. Too steep an angle and too much pressure. I can get away with it using my mild razors.
