Wolfman Razor: Polished or Brushed?

Hi Marko, so far I have been using Feather. The shave is good but I find not very forgiving on the neck where I have any number of grain direction. I will load up an Astra SP next and see how that goes. I think I have some Bics around as well and will compare notes.

Hi Kevin, the bic was just ok on second go with MLS lather, first go was with B&M LGC so maybe the soap made it better. I'll give the Astra a try as well.

So what do these go for anyway? I'm well aware of the waiting list, but is it really THAT much better than something like ATT?

I've got an ATT R1, Wolfman OC, and Wolfman OC with the .74 gap. The ATT is a different shave compared to the Wolfmans. Neither provides a better shave for me. They are different shavers for sure. Wolfmans are all about smooth and efficient with a slight edge on smooth. My ATT R1 is all about the awesome audible feedback with more emphasis on efficiency than smoothness.

Both are high quality razors. But the Wolfman, you can see the love for attention and detail put in to each piece.

I can only comment on the brushed finish as I went that direction but it is beautiful to look at. Feels great, looks great and I am completely satisfied with my choice!

Used the SB head this morning and was amazed at the smoothness of the shave. I feel that the standard gap provides a close enough shave that I am not sure what I may gain by getting the increased blade gap [I went back and forth on this quite a bit].

I was also struck even in the simple act of loading a blade. The smoothness of the threading on head/handle made it feel as if I was threading liquid. Unique and something I have never experienced with any other razor in my collection.

Love the heft as well. I will share some thoughts after I have a few more shaves but so far I am extremely happy with both the quality and the performance.
