It is a beautifully crafted tool.  I opted for polished and sprung for a stand too.  The lines are just reflections off the mirror finish. I have no regrets on any of the options I selected.

Ahem... wow! Amazing and great image Mark. Such a beautiful piece of HW, I forget, did you opt for the standard blade gap or did you get the .74mm? Can't wait to hear your thoughts post shave.

More pics wouldn't be a bad thing either Smile Use in great health!

Kevin, thanks, I hummed and hawed about the gap but ended up going standard. Yours should be there soon - I assume you went brushed? What other options did you request?

I got tracking info so the shipment is out the door and on the way and I just went standard and brushed. I hear the .74mm is nice and smooth but thought the standard would be a solid starting point.

Seeing your shot really has me even more excited to receive after anticipating since June.

Kevin, its totally worth the wait. Its funny, one of the things the internet has done is made it so we pretty much can have whatever we want (within reason) right now. I think that a lot of people have had trouble dealing with the concept of having to wait for something they really want right away. Its character buildingSmile

Agreed. I like my immediate gratification as much as the next person and in today's day and world it is readily available. But there is something actually satisfying to me in the wait for something, anticipating and building the excitement. That sense of appreciation is increased.

Could just be me though Smile

Not at all, Kevin. I think you hit the nail on the head. How many of you have ordered something, knowing it would be a while before delivery. You get on with your life and push this something to the back of your mind. Then, you get home from work one day and there it is, delivered by USPS, FedEx, or UPS. Remember, the excitement? In its way, every bit as good or better than Amazon two day delivery. Patience can be a virtue.  Winking

Completely agreed Freddy ! I love it when I lose track of something, the box or package arrives and I am welcomed by a subtle surprise. I do get the frustration, particularly if there are missed commitments or lack of communication but I very rarely experience that in the wet shaving community.

Plus the reality is, I would imagine we all have enough product and HW around to tide us over for better than a couple of days Smile

Oh boy, will you just listen to Mark and Kevin doin' all the highfalutin talking about character building and all that rot? Easy for them to say, what with Mark now having his in hand and Kevin's within spitting distance.

Pity poor ol' Beamon who, just three short months ago, thought "Wolfman" was a guy in a wolf costume for Halloween. Now, appropriately 'in the know' about such things, finds that he can't even enter the sacred waiting list until February, and not assured of making it then depending on the size of the rush to 'Wolfdom' will likely have to wait at least six months beyond that for delivery. That's almost September if I'm lucky. Looking at 80 in three weeks, I'm not sure I won't be in the clutches of "The Grim Reaper" by then!  Cry

Beamon, I see your point. Sorry. If its any comfort I wasn't able to get any Hallows soap this year. I still have some left from last year's release but there's no way it'll last out the year, I've got a silver dollar sized hole in the soap where the bottom of the tub is showing through.
