I posted this same question in the WR2 thread but it is more or less buried in the volume of posts already in that thread. So as a stand alone I figure it might get more attention.

I'm hoping to be at 'the right place, at the right time' when James does another drop on his site.

So weighing my options I'm wondering how I'd like the long handle as opposed to the standard.

Yes, I've got other razors with short or long handles, and TBH I like some with a long handle, others with a short handle.

I'm considering the hollow version of the 98mm handle to offset the added weight.

Anyone with experience with the above have an opinion to share ?

I have solid WRH2 90mm and Darwin handle and I like they both. The first handle weight like WRH7 98mm, the darwin weight like the hollow WRH7. Shaving with the heavier handle is going under its weight. You don't need control it. With darwin handle it won't work. Regarding the length, choose the size under your hand.

I have the WRH1 and WRH2 as well, and the Darwin. I prefer the former two for the weight, but I really like the Darwin for the feel of it when shaving. Also because it is beautiful. James polished the handle to perfection, but the edges on the flats are sharp and crisp like an old Winchester rifle or S&W revolver.

I suppose I'll just go standard WRH7 and maybe pick up a long/hollow later on. Decide which I want to keep and let the other go. Trouble is ... every time I think I'll do that with a Wolfman product I get I can't bring myself to part with it LOL

I really like the WRH1 standard length. But the weight was a bit heavy. I have since gotten a WRH1 standard length hollow and that is really nice. The other handle that I like & use is the WRH2 standard - very nice looking and ergonomic. Tried the WRH7 but never gelled with it because of the grip and the way it looks - too feminine.

100mm solid wrh2 is awesome

I've been studying on it. I think if I ever get the chance I'm going to go DC 105 OC, 115 SB, and WH-7 long hollow.

Handles are like women: men have their preference and really no wrong choices. Having tried nearly all the duFour handles, have settled on 2 in SS: WRH2 in 100mm solid and Darwin. The Darwin is absolutely hideous to my mind visually - and to be fair most would state the same of me. However, when viewed as a tool to facilitate controlling a DE razor head, there is hardly a more versatile option to be found in the industry. It is the epitome of function over form: facilitating, accommodating and enhancing any grip preference imaginable. The WRH2 conversely, particularly in solid SS and 100mm handle, provides a perfect weight and leverage to allow the razor head to perfectly glide over the skin be it face or body with zero pressure required. At times it’s classic shape feels odd at rare angles required to reach netherregions but the heft remains one’s friend provided zero pressure is applied. Note also that the old rule of matching handle length to hand size need not apply. While rather large physically at 193cm and 80kg, handsize is actually 9 - be advised. So, in my case, aesthetique rules the day over rationality and have committed to the beautiful lines of the polished SS WRH2 in 100mm with stand for all but the BBS1.

I was able to acquire a Darwin handle with a WR1 .61 OC head and WRA2 stand about a month ago.
I had heard the accolades, as above, before, but after using/experiencing the Darwin handle in several uses, I have to agree with most of the above. The Darwin is certainly more ergonomic than anticipated. It is also 'Invisible', which is a good thing since being invisible means that something functions very well WITHOUT much thought or accomplishing its 'mission' without much input!
