Dave, you were one of the first to sign up in the first 10 seconds.  SMH.  I thought I had disorders.  Smile

This is the data that came directly from the creator and admin of waitlistr.com.  He sent it to me.  I saw 38 people signed up in the first 10 seconds and 54 people after the first minute.

59 sign ups in 2 minutes
68 users signed up after 5 minutes
80 users signed up after 30 minutes
67 users on at one time (peak) @ 2/3 min mark

Hey, don't hate me because I'm quick! I smashed that F5 button like it owed me money!! Evilgrin

No worries. I won't be losing any sleep or money over this. I said what I needed to say and your sarcasm gives me lots of pause.

I hope you get all the business you can get, it won't be mine that's for sure.

I'm done with it, good day.

Sorry to lose you Hector. I was only clearing up the reasons I operate the way I do and clearing up the information on the posts. I understand why you are angry with me and I respect that.

You are correct, I am not perfect. Again, I am sorry to lose a valuable customer because of my shortcomings.

I'm not angry Peter.  I think I explained that in our private communications.  All I can do is wish you good luck.

Thank you Hector.

I just think of myself as a neighbor who is helping another neighbor when I have the time. What I do is still a hobby using my spare time only. It doesn't remain enjoyable anymore when it becomes intense work or if it creates issues. I just simply want to continue and get to know more people in the process. I never meant to create a long wait list or create controversy.

Similarly, I don't want neighbor #1 upset at me when I cannot help them paint their kitchen because I am currently helping neighbor #2 paint their bathroom. Same thing goes for making brushes. I don't want anyone upset at me if I am not able to work on the project right away. I have to make decisions. Heck, I literally have to paint my whole house on the inside come April and also completely move my household. That will take some time away from my other work too.

So long story, I know I could have just left this alone and I let myself get a bit defensive.

Peter

I have frequent conversations with Peter. I know he values fairness as perhaps his top value. I've had lengthy discussions with him on various subjects and he has no desire to take advantage of other people or to be taken advantage of. I'm always impressed at how he handles such a variety of customer each with with their own demands and their own quirks and is such volume.

My point is - I have every reason to believe that he is doing his best to meet the needs of his customers in the way he sees as fair. The model he chooses won't please everyone, and as a result some people will find other sources for their brushes. But rest assured he's doing his best. Hopefully there is never bitterness when business models just don't fit a user's needs. Part ways and be amicable. I think and hope that is what happened here.

Thanks Peter for sharing a little bit of your thoughts on how you decided to manage the wait list. I think it will help people see what a balancing act it is.

Thanks Hector for sharing your perspective as a repeat customer. I know vendors such as myself love to know how to keep customers coming back.

Just for some outside perspective on this, that you don't prioritize repeat customers is actually a big plus in my book. As someone who has not yet ordered from your company, if I should choose to do so, one barrier for me would have be been the knowledge that someone could cut in line at any time, thus extending my wait time.

That would annoy me. I think your way of not prioritizing repeat customers is much more fair (and effective in drawing in new customers) than the alternative.

Thanks Peter for your thoughts.

I guess I would consider myself a loyal customer- I just received my Milk Glass brush yesterday [thanks Gareth for such a quick turn!] and have several others that I have worked with Peter directly on .

Even so, I would prefer not to receive preferential treatment (nor have I ever to my knowledge) and appreciate a level playing field.

The reality is you can't please everybody all the time and the easiest way to please the majority is give everyone an equal opportunity to purchase.

Glad you're still having fun Peter, look forward to seeing this latest cohort of brushes hit the wild!

I should add that my opinion was not influenced by the artisan having the best first name in the whole world Wink.
