Yep, Dave Dave in KY reached out to them and got a response confirming. The thread is here:

As far as a replacement. Arko is cheap and probably a better performer (than modern Williams). It's sold at many of the common vendors, too (The razor company, Pasteur's, etc).

If you really do need a soap as inexpensive as Williams, I suggest you purchase Yardley of London moisturizing bath bar with Cocoa Butter.
You can purchase a package of 10 x 4.25 ounce bars for $13.28 on Amazon. That will last you a very long time.

If you want to test it first before purchasing a bulk pack, you might be able to find smaller quantities at your local grocery, pharmacy or discount store., but it may cost more per bar.
Although I prefer using higher quality soap, I do rate Yardley as being significantly superior to Williams Mug Soap. It loads easier, lathers easier, provides better primary and residual slickness, a similar level of cushion/protection, and a similar postshave. I also rate it superior to Arko, primarily because Arko leaves my face feeling tight and dry and has a off-putting aroma.

It's definitely a scent many don't care for. I find it light enough that it isn't offensive, but I'm not writing ballads singing it's wonders either. Lol.

Now, have you tried the same with the Yardley Lavender bar soap? I love that scent but NO ONE has a shave soap even close (to my nose). Could I get a good shave from that, too ... or is it the cocoa butter that makes this specific one usable for shaving?

I did one pass, and that was enough to know you should use the right too for the right job.(02-27-2022, 01:22 PM)RayClem Wrote: If you really do need a soap as inexpensive as Williams, I suggest you purchase Yardley of London moisturizing bath bar with Cocoa Butter.RayClem has a very good point on Arko... Too bad, the scent is awesome and screams 'Springtime!'
