Wilkinson Sword Blades - Ouch

The Gillette Wilkinson Sword blade made in China is even better than the one from India, which I have heard they stopped producing in India. I can actually get a decent shave from the current German made WS blade.

I have received great shaves with India made Wilkinson.

I must change my mind concerning Gillette Wilkinson Sword blades made in India.

I shaved with one blade four (4) times and observed too much redness in the shaved area.

Now I shall use another blade to shave.

Talk about a thread revival! Well, since that happened – I really enjoy the Wilkinson Sword Classic blade, which is the one made in Germany. (Black plastic tuck with white label.) I haven’t tried the ones made in India, or China.

Most German-made blades that I’ve tried have not worked that well for me, so it actually amazes me a bit how much I enjoy the Wilkinsons.

In short: Gillette Wilkinson Sword made in India are awesome and absolutely the best blades for the money. In case of Wilkinson Sword made in Germany, there is almost nothing to write home about.

Back in 2016 I have found at home 6 or 7 plastic boxes of 5 Wilkinson Sword blades made in Germany. I have been using them from time to time. Just recently I got a 100 of Gillette Wilkinson Sword made in India purchased through the eBay for <$6usd shipped from India.

Gillette Wilkinson Sword blades are sharp yet very smooth. IMHO, they are among the best blades I have tried so far - on par with PolSIlver, but smoother. They are thinner, more flexible and a way more consistent than just Wilkinsons. These blades seem to be more "durable", too.

German Wilkinson blades aren't as smooth, but they are close in sharpness. They don't last for more than 3 or 4 shaves.

I don't find that they (German-made WS) are the worst blade I've used, but they certainly were the most expensive.
When I first got back into DE shaving the only blades I could find anywhere locally were WS at the local pharmacy. 
They were CAD$5.25 for a tuck of 5 blades.
Then I got a sampler pack online and settled on Astra SP, then decided that WS are way overpriced.
I remember them as being at least okay in the '70s and '80s.

More recently that same store is selling them for CAD$3.50/5 blades, or thereabouts.

Now though, I'm a big fan of Shaverboy blades.
