I just loaded up on “Roam” and now see BM in sold out.... I love Will’s soaps and there are others I really like that he makes Roam and Hallows however, rank right up there with that nostalgic Ideal that I could use them forever the way my Dad and his before him used old spice, they are that good and I enjoy them that much. Not that I wouldn’t try and or use other scents intermittently, but they could easily be my staples easily until death. I love them, my wife loves them and my kids have associated those two scents with “Dad” more than any other.

So let me ask a stupid, non condescending question because frankly I don’t get it. Roam and Hallows have always sold fast. Always. Roam supposedly is dead forever. Why kill a scent people love and will buy continuously? I’m not a soap maker and I don’t have a MBA so to me, this seems strange. I get the idea of a every other year release of scents to keep people excited and not kill the enthusiasm for a scent. I even get killing one off because it doesn’t sell well. However, in this case, Roam and Hallows are raved about here and elsewhere. Why let them die? I don’t get it.

Will has been pretty stead fast in what he says he will do in terms of releases etc so I highly doubt this is a marketing ploy only to surge numbers. I just didn’t think I’d have to scramble to save soap and aftershave I love because it was dead ala vintage old spice.... not in this market and certainly not in the way it has grown.... kind of a bummer. Again, not to be repetitious, the two aforementioned scents are hugely popular... I cant fathom the logic here.

I actually had just gone over to B&M’s site about half an hour ago, specifically to buy a set of Roam. I’ve never had the pleasure of using it, and thought I would give it a try. Guess not.

TheHunter Maggard Razors quickly Smile. Buy two you’ll love it and if you buy two and don’t love it I’ll buy both from you in three months when you can’t get it anywhere and I panic Smile

steeleshaves I took your advice, just went to Maggards and purchased two Roam Soaps, and two Roam Aftershaves! Can’t wait to experience this one!

I had given up on Will’s Glissant base, even though some of my favorite scents are made in this base (Seville, Lavanille). I get much better results with his Reserve line, which I attribute to my hard water. Going to have a jug of distilled water on hand when I use this one!

It's why I don't bother we LE soaps, etc. Even if Mikes suddenly goes away though it isn't like I can't find a soap that I like. I don't think Roam will be something that everybody in 2050 will be talking about anyway. Smile

I agree. I love Roam and don't understand why he would ever stop making it. Especially if it sells so well! As a matter of fact, you all just convinced me to head over to Maggard to purchase a backup set, the first backup I've ever bought of anything. You watch, now he'll bring it back as a permanent addition next year, lol.

I think Will gets a fair bit of hate mail for some of his scents, so rather than deal with the cranks out there, he might simply want to move on from it. I'm not a fan of roam myself, but I wouldn't hate on someone for making something.

I have the previous release of roam and it is still at 90% or more. When and if I ever do finish it I'm sure their will be something I would want even more. I like how artisans rotate out theis stocks and keep them fresh. On the other hand I'm glad they re-released roam, I didn't buy another one or anything but I'm glad people who wanted it got that chance.

Part of the reason it sells so well is the fact it's a Limited Edition. If it was a part of a regular line it possibly wouldn't sell that great.
Also, just because it's some people's favorite scent most probably that's not enough to keep it as a regular line..

Not sure about most but when it comes to personal care items I tend to find things and stick with what works. I’d have a hard time committing to a product that had questionable long term availability.
