why do people get banned at shaving sites?

BadDad Thank you sir! I do take your point (and that of others) on naming specific individuals seriously though. That's one thing we should strive to avoid, because that sort of personal bickering isn't the point of this thread, nor is it helpful on the general issue. I do think that specifying forums is a different matter, for substantive reasons, but also because there is a public interest element in providing a place to discuss a subject that is completely silenced elsewhere.

Well, there are a lot of forums out there that are gentlemanly on the surface, but far from it underneath.

This is NOT one of those forums. This place practices what it preaches, abnd presents itself and its members with sincerity and respect.

I agree except 95% of us have been on the other forums for a long time and know which forums are being talked about anyhow.

I say leave names out of it, but forums are open season. Like I said earlier, if this place is being called, "Damn Whine Shave," it means they are paying attention. Too bad they cannot shut down threads here. If they are fing shills for certain people and products let them be called out on it. If they don't like it, too fing bad. Go back to your own forum and STFU then.

Perhaps your comments were too dry and they did not understand the humour.
A surfeit of towels might do that.

I've only ever been banned once from Badger & Blade and I would never go back there, believe me when I say I was banned for asking in the straight razor section does anyone know where I could find a coffin for my Filarmonica Para professional, the moderators contacted me and told me I contravened the forum rules you are banned! it wasn't even a sales thread what a bunch of arsholes, I also think the more influential long term members feel threatened If they know you offer a service or can offer your expertise and you are not a vendor but you are well known enough to take work away from them.

That's nothing...I was reprimanded and threatened with banning because I said it was cowardly to talk crap about an entire group of individuals while hiding behind fake internet names. In their defense, I did state pretty clearly that anyone talking crap on an internet forum under a fake name that was saying things anonymously that they wouldn't say face-to-face in a coffeshop was a coward, and I was pretty explicitly talking about specific responses, so there was a very thinly defined line that might have been sort of crossed if you squint and ignore the posts I was replying to...

Pardon my language but rather than piss and moan about certain sites (and I can think of two or three that I no longer return to even though I am not banned), I usually find one or two I am happy with and just put my efforts into those.  As time goes on, the sites that I was upset or unhappy with simply become footnotes, nothing more.  What better way to get even without raising my blood pressure.
