it's a low barrier to entry into the bst. for a long time we didn't have any such restrictions, until a few people ruined it for everyone. we've had issues with new users sending nasty PMs to a few members as well as someone ripping off several people with higher end shaving gear.

Not a complaint.  Your reasons are clear and sensible.  I was remarking on the pleasure i had in making the effort.  I made some acquaintenances, had some smiles and found a possessory interest in the site doing well and being a center of exchange.  Perhaps a reason in addition to those which initially prompted you.  It’s a good rule, particularly for those like me who may start out reluctantly.

Hi albertodik, and welcome to Damn Fine Shave.  To use the PM system or the B/S/T thread you must have been a member for 14 days and have at least 10 posts.  Once that goal is reached, the PM system and B/S/T thread will automatically open to you.

Is there a way for a new member to contact a seller? I understand wanting to validate new members before they post items for sale.

In this case, I would like to purchase something from BST, but have no means of connecting with the seller and assume in 14 days the opportunity will be lost.
