So I was vigorously cleaning my 1960 Flare Tip with a tooth brush (obviously too vigorously) and one of the end caps popped off. I caught the dayum thing before it went down the drain luckily. So what should I use to attach this thing back on?

Dan, I wonder how they were originally attached. If they were soldered on then that might be the best approach. Just a thought.

I believe they were soldered. I can tell from experience a torch will ruin the plating.

You should use either JB Weld, a teeny tiny amount.

Or ask a person who does replating what they do.

If you have a soldering iron you might get away with doing it without flashing the finish like I did. I don't have one so have not tried that.

There's a video on RE's site that shows how they solder end caps back on. Of course they make it look easy.

I knew they were soldered, but didn't want to go that route. I do have JB Weld though. Maybe I'll try that.
