My MJ-90 arrived and I shaved with today just now.
Observations:
1. Finish on the head and handle is good
2. Blade sits very close to safety bar, you would think, this won't even cut any hair
3. Very mild( good as daily shaver or people with sensitive skin)
4. Very efficient, 2 pass BBS
5. Cuts better on WTG pass than ATG

Thanks for the review! Btw, how did the razor head feel against the skin? The coating on my aluminum babysmooth I find to be grabby/has a bit of friction. Does the MJ-90 feel like this?
I agree that the finish on the head and the handle are good — it’s a nice-looking razor for sure. I also like the weight of the combination, as it is pleasantly light, yet not as feather-light as an all-aluminum razor would be.
Sadly, it’s been a while since I had the Mühle R89 (which I believe is the same as the Edwin Jagger DE90), so I can’t really compare the two. However, the MJ-90 is so mild that I found it to be somewhat inefficient.
With a sharp blade, I think this will be a decent razor for those who like to do 3–4 pass shaves. I have relatively sensitive skin, so I like to keep the passes to a minimum (usually 2). With the MJ-90, it feels like the work isn’t quite done after just two passes.

Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”

I did not feel it grabby.

I felt it is inefficient on WTG pass but ATG pass was quite good

Thanks guys. I got mine in the mail today. You're right about the finish -- it feels different from the babysmooth. Looking at the razor with the blade in, it looks like the blade gap might be smaller than on the EJ/Muhle 89, which could explain the lack of efficiency. I can get a BBS-/DFS from 2 passes and touch ups with an 89 and a decent blade (GSB), so I will see how this one goes. I agree 100% that I prefer to do less passes.
Per Bob's comment, if it goes well ATG, I might use it for two pass/two razor shaves with a more efficient shaver for the WTG pass.

Same experience with mine, I even changed the blade from a vintage Gillette Platinum to a Feather mid-shave and didn't make difference at all. Still needed 4 passes to get close. IMO it's not more efficient than my EJ89. My MJ-90 will end up on the BST soon.
