Who amongst us choose cartridge razors?

After many years of DE, SE and straight razors….I’ve actually gone back to carts.

I now use a Gillette skin guard razor….brush and soaps. I do a 3 pass traditional way of shaving using good technique.

BBS every single time, zero irritation!

My skin feels better than ever.

It works for me and I have no intensions of using anything else now.

I use a gillette skin guard, almost exclusively, for shaving my head. I haven't tried it on my face yet but maybe I will in the near future.

When I travel I use Fusion Proglide among with my Syntetic Brush, great choice and convenient.

I usually buy mine on ebay to save a few bucks.

I very much enjoy using Gillette Sensor 3 once in a while. It goes by different marketing names (Gillette Blue 3, Gillette Vector 3). I can't really tell if they are the exact same product but they definitely share strong similarities (to me they seem identical). I can't compare Blue 3 to the more recent 5+ blade generations as I have not tried razors with that many blades.

I acknowledge the skin benefits cartrige technology delivers to most people myself included, with the pivoting head, multi-blade system and lubrication strip. It just works. I turned to traditional double-edge razors as a hobby not by necessity. Cartridges didn't get me irritation, razor burn or ingrown hairs. With DE shaving I just appreciate the preparation and care it requires. Another plus is that I added a brush to the routine which improved the process significantly.

Recently I've been enjoying Gillette's Guard with one blade, pivoting head and no lubrication strip (marketed in India).

I love the Gillette Sensor Excel with dual blade cartridge....sadly they've been removed
from supermarkets although they have them on eBay for a premium

I still use them every now and then.

You can still get a decent DE razor for under $50 so I believe the original theoretical "saving money by DE shaving" formula still holds true for the very, very disciplined.    That said, theres certainly nothing wrong with cartridges.  They give you a decent, drama free shave and if you pair a cartridge razor with a nice brush and shaving soap you can get a lot of the allure of wet shaving without going down the razor rabbet hole.  $800
