Which single edge to try?

I currently have the Above The Tie SE1 and the Asylum Rx single edge razors. I use mostly the first one. I also have plenty of double edge razors. I think it's time to try another SE.


Which one to try next?

Go GEM! Clog Pruf is an excellent SE razor, easily sought in the wild without breaking the bank.

I like my 1948 Type G Schick Injector Safety Razor

I'll throw out two that everyone seems to get along with: Gem Damaskeene, Schick I2. Both very smooth and efficient.

I'm also in the GEM camp although I have never tried a Feather AC blade style razor. I like the Featherweight (push button), Bullet Tip and Ever Ready 1924. Injectors are good too.

Colonial Razors’ The General is quite popular and well-liked. It’s a trouble-free shaver, although I found it just slightly mild for my taste. (Of course blade choice can play a part in that aspect of the shave.)

They should be coming out with a brass version some time in the near future. That may be one to look at, as well.

I also like the Mongoose AlumiGoose 2, but that one may be more difficult to find at the moment.

You might check out the Barbaros merchant post. It looks like they have a GEM blade razor coming soon. Might be worth putting your plans on hold for a bit.

You could buy every Gem-Ever Ready ever made for the cost of the Above the Tie.
