I've never had one of my injectors done by North shore but they typically only use G heads when they do them so I would think that's the kind of shave you would get. They are great looking!

Thank you gentlemen!  I had never heard of North Shore until now.  Their handiwork looks beautiful, and reasonably priced too.  They showed a revamped Schick that made my eyes pop, and there are quite a few revamped Gillettes too.  I need to reread their Shipping and FAQ pages to be sure I understand what they do, but it looks like they do a combination of mechanical refurbishing within limits, plus some seriously beautiful refinishing.

Thanks for the heads up.  I have a vintage Schick and a Gillette Slim, and I might send one of them their way down the road at some point.

If you don't mind the dainty appearance, a Schick K1/"Lady Eversharp" is my favourite injector.
  • Very mild (but effective),
  • Well-balanced, and
  • Hydro-Magic!

So where's a good source to get some Chicks blades as most call them. Don't tell my wife I'm asking where the chicks are

Amazon in the US. My local Long's Drugs also has them.

Hi John.
If you don't mind, since we're both canadians, where did you buy your Schick blades, please?
Amazon.ca prices seem a bit ridiculous.
I got some Schick Proline B-20s but the dispenser doesn't have a key.
Connaught offer the japanese ones with a key, but they seems a bit expensive, although maybe they're worth their price?

Thanks in advance!

I picked up a couple of packs (Schick brand injectors with keys, but not like the vintage injector in the photo) from a Lawton's Drugs store in Amherst, Nova Scotia, about 15 minutes drive from me. That was a few years ago, so I don't know if they still carry them.
I think the median age in Amherst might be old enough that there are guys with injector razors that they bought when they were still brand new.

I'm pretty sure that you can reload the key-equipped injectors with fresh blades, once you find (or create) an empty. Getting used blades out of the dispenser's built-in blade bank might be another story.

Thanks John.
Actually, I’m not much into injector razors at the moment.
I have more interest into GEM razors for SE shaving right now.

Cheers,
François
