Which Knot?

I am looking for a 22mm badger knot for a re-knot job
Don't have budget restrains or hair type preferences

I have not used his badger but have a synthetic 30mm that I love.

Regardless, Larry's customer service is amongst the best that I have experienced of any vendor so wouldn't hesitate to give him a try.

If money is not an object, definitely contact Shavemac. He sells his knots separately and they are great. Go to his webpage and then the Configurator drop down menu. Click on "knots" and you can choose the knot type, size, shape, etc. That's my suggestion.

I have a Whipped Dog brush and was terribly let down. I think you get what you pay for in the badger knots.

They do, but they are almost as much as a full Shavemac brush.

As for WD, they can be hit or miss but Larry stands behind them. I got a dud but he replaced it with one that is wonderful, hooked tips and all.

All evidence has been buried. All tapes have been erased.

While I have not had experience with Whipped Dog, my experience with Shavemac is exactly the opposite of yours.  Customer service was almost nonexistent.  My brush shed like mad for months.  When I contacted them it took 6 weeks before I had a very unsatisfactory reply.  It is the most expensive brush I have ever purchased and I have no plans on using Shavemac again anytime soon.  Obviously, different folks have different experiences and mine may have been a one-off so feel free to give them a try.

I have a WD 24 mm silvertip I got a year ago and have had no problems with it. It shed 2-3 hairs and that was it. I recently e-mailed larry about the 30 mm synthetic  regarding face lathering and he e-mailed me back, if you don't like it, send it back. No prob.

Wow!! That is a shocker. I have 6 Shavemacs and have not had a problem. But given your experience I don't blame you for taking a pass.

My second suggestion is TGN's high mountain white knot. I just recently received one and used it to reknot a handle. Worked very nicely-good quality and no shedding. Good luck.
