Affectionately known as “Swedes” due to the Swedish Stainless Steel but mfg’d in Russia… one of my favorites too!
This is something I did not know.  I have a bunch but maybe should get more in case of Blademegadon.  I like them slightly better than the Old version of the Gillette Platinum blade and better than Gillette Silver Blue.  In any case, I reached my opinion after a great deal of trial and error.  For me smooth is better and this blade is very smooth on my skin.

They work well for me. They are sharp and smooth. I have the Russian version. They are just on the pricey side at $6.99 for 10. You can buy them by the hundred for what would be the equivalent of about $3.20 for 10, but I believe they are the Chinese version.

RayClem included both versions in his blade evaluation thread. They were rated as follows:

KCG Russia:
Sharpness - 4.75
Smoothness - 4.75

KCG China:
Sharpness - 5
Smoothness - 4

Remember that my blade evaluations are all subjective. I would consider the differences between the King C Gillette Russian and China blades to be within the margin of error. They are both good blades, but I tend to have a slight preference for the Russian version due to my sensitive skin. Considering, however, that the Chinese version is now available in bulk packs of 100 blades for $16 on Amazon, it is a much better value. Since the Russian blades are no longer being produced and they were only available in 10 packs, I suspect that there are very few of the Russian KCG blades remaining.

There was a time when Chinese blades were considered to be rubbish. Those days are gone. Sure, there are still some poor quality blades coming out of China, but there are also some very nice ones. If you want very good blades at a bargain price, check out the FlyDear blades. If you want an even better blade at a somewhat higher price, check out the Filoso Barber Brand blades.
