I am interested in getting a couple anodized or coated black razor handles from an artisan, but I don't know of anyone who makes them. (I thought of Jurgen Hempel, but I am not a member of Facebook and don't know how to contact him otherwise.) If you know of someone who might offer such a handle, please let me know.
Thanks.

Hello, sir. I too have encountered such a desire. my search did not lead to an unambiguously ready result. But I found a way out, I turned to the company that makes dlc coverage. This is excellent for stainless steel handles, for titanium handles it looks better and feels finger anodizing.
I can assume that in America it is not difficult to find companies that will gladly fulfill your desire.

I believe he stopped making handles a while ago. The only two razors that have DLC handles that come to mind are the Razorock Lupo (which is sold out and youd need to find used) or the Blackland Blackbird (which is also sold out but shane has said will be coming back soon, I think ha). Other than that, youd prolly have to find someone to do the coating on an existing handle like stated above.

MarleyMachineWorks on Etsy does custom handles, although I don't know for sure if he does coating/anodizing. Might be worth an inquiry.

Thanks for the answers. I've sent an inquiry to Scott at MarleyMachineWorks.

Thanks. Do the Lupo and Blackbird handles fit on most other regular DE razor heads?

The Blackbird handle screws into the baseplate so may not fit other heads. The Lupo handle should fit other heads. Rockwell also sells a black razor that is pvd coated - that handle will fit standard heads. Tatara also sells black handles but same proprietary issue as the Blackbird where it screws into their baseplate. Karve also sells black anodized handle but in aluminum only. So may be worth trying Razorock Lupo handle and Rockwell black handle and Karve black handle (if you want aluminum). There may other vendors but I’m not familiar with them. I hope this helps.

Thank you. I've heard back from MarleyMachineWorks, and he can anodize titanium but not in black. I'll look into the Lupo and Rockwell, but I suspect I'll still want something more custom

Are you wanting a complete handle made or an existing handle coated? If you just want one coated I’d email some of these vendors who have sold razors coated in the past and ask them if they could divulge who did the coating for them

Either way would be OK.Thanks for the suggestion. I don't yet have any titanium handles to send out, but I think I could pretty easily pick up a couple. At this point a friend is sending me a Rockwell handle with titanium coating that looks like it might complement both my new Carbon heads, the Damascus and the Mokume-gane, and I am corresponding with Scott on Etsy, who does an acid anodized blue treatment with a sort of lightning bolt effect that also might look great with the Damascus.
