When a scent lingers too long in the sink

Something of interest I have observed is the civility of this site, at least on the many threads I have seen here. I posted the opening post on another shave forum, practically verbatim to the post here, and received responses along the lines of getting a divorce (granted, made in jest, but nonetheless made) and just use a different bathroom. On DFS I received helpful ideas and support. So Thank You, to the members for being "good people", as my grandma used to classify others!

I've transitions from loving very strongly scented to doaps, to very mild scented soaps. I will use an AS or EdT if I want lingering scent.

As for my wife, if she doesn't like it and finds it offensive.....it goes in the shower or trash.

All evidence has been buried. All tapes have been erased.

MaineYooper I'm glad the DFS membership compares favourably with others you've encountered.  It reinforces my view that I am in the company of a supportive community.  I've been here since the beginning of October and I've found everyone to be very helpful and supportive.  In the rare event that a member has posted inappropriately I've found that both the membership and the moderators have handled the matter in a positive and helpful way rather than jumping all over them.  Its refreshing to see in this day and age.  I do feel that DFS members are, as you say, good people, I think you'll fit right in

How about unscented soaps when you shave and apply your aftershave or cologne before you leave for work for the day or even apply those in the car or at the office itself.    Balms?  They tend to be less potent than aftershave and or some soaps out there.  Worst case scenario you just have to use unscented soaps and balms.

I think some of these scents can be very overwhelming for sure.  I can understand, as a former smoker that hasn't touched a cigarette in 15 years, I can't be around cigarette smoke, it makes me sick.  

Hopefully it gets better or go the unscented way, then you have an excuse to buy more colognes, lol.....

Yes, I have gone almost entirely unscented, which is how I started this journey.  I just got too carried away and assumed (I know, never assume!) that since I didn't smell anything then she wouldn't, either.

If you still want to enjoy a nice soap with a pleasant but light scent then I strongly recommend Aqua di Parm Collezione Barbiere shaving cream.
