La Poire Française (Henri et Victoria) very contrary pear

Of the dozens of soaps I've tried, La poire française is, unfortunately, the only one that has set me alight like a flambeau. That's a shame because I've been enticed by its scent for a long time. It has the air of a perfectly ripe pear, sweet, delicious and reminiscent of the holiday season. In fact, my wife took a sniff and said it was her favorite bakery at Christmas time. But that rich festive scent, for me, is also the snake in the grass. After two passes, I flamed up, and now I look like I've spent a day in the sand at Waikiki without a drop of sun screen.

Aside from my unlucky reaction to the fragrance oils, the soap gave a good shave. It lathered with only a drop of water, and I was left with just a bit of dryness and chafing. But I cannot recommend this soap, lest you, like me, come away from your encounter steaming red like a lobster, still hot from the pot.

That's a shame Bouki. It sounds like a nice scent. I've had the same thing happen to me on a few occasions so I feel your pain. I really enjoy reading your reviews though, so keep 'em coming!
