I messed around when Mitchell’s Wool Fat made a recipe change and missed out getting a tallow puck until they were all gone. Well, I still had a half a puck to go so I felt ok. (Isn’t it weird we take so seriously our shaving soaps? ) Fact is I love the scent and performance and that Mitchell’s dish! So iconic. Anyway, the other day I saw a puck of Kent soap, which as we know is a rebranded Mitchell’s, and they were asking 8 bucks for the puck. Ingredients label was exactly the same as the new Mitchell’s but 8 dollars is a whole lot easier to swallow if it turned out to be a bath bar. I’d hear reports of new stuff producing thin lather but I held out Hope. Shoot Sodium Palmate is usually the sign of a crummy shave soap. Well it cam and I shaved and ………. I can’t tell the difference between it and the old, stuff. I’m as pleased as punch to know the Fat is not dead. Thick, slick, and heavenly. And that pleated paper packaging!
