I realized today that this is the first Black Friday in years that I didn’t increase the pile. Nope, no sabbatical which I’ve alway declined. I was messing in a cabinet filled with soaps and realized I have so many favorites that never get wet, and Black Friday offerings which I already own, that this year I made zero effort to “save money”. I hope for the sake of our niche market the rest of you toted the mail though. Here are pics of my last three.

Shave 10 ・ 59 g left
Something went wrong with yesterday’s shave. I woke with welts on my left cheek. For some reason superfatted soaps lead to irritation if I use them for several days in a row. I think they make my skin too soft. So today I’m back to Martin de Candre, the simplest base there is. It never fails to give me a good clean shave without any drama.
FlashOne, did you have to show me your beautiful burner? Filled my heart with longing. And I really enjoyed your note on Rania J's Oud Assam ... "a huge barnyard with a thousand goats kicking around an enormous gorgonzola cheese" ... got to get me some of that! Let’s hope Santa leaves a little cash in my Christmas stocking for a subitism burner and some chips. Until then I’ll keep messing with Ensar’s oily offerings. Today’s Maroha Myaku is a woody wild-harvested oud with hints of gasoline and chocolate. The dry down is sedate and ashen.
