Fougère, bol en frêne (Martin de Candre ) classic fougère
Shave 20 ・ 206 g left

After three shaves with this soap, my tired old skin has taken on new life. I’m not sure whether to credit the soap or the razor more, but I suspect the simplicity of the soap base accounts for most of my healing. I’ve long known that preshaves, aftershaves, and alum blocks often irritate my face, and soaps claiming deep skin treatments can have a similar effect. Martin de Candre, with its minimal ingredients – none specifically designed for skin care – rinses off quickly and cleanly, allowing my skin to recover naturally from the shave without interference from oils or creams. Yes, this bowl of soap was expensive, but when I consider that with each shave it's actually grown in mass, I guess you could say that I haven't spent anything at all, so far.

The razor might also deserve some praise: I've been using a BiC double-bladed disposable weighing less than a gram. Its two stacked blades provide a close shave in just one pass, with no need for anything more. The razor’s featherlight touch causes minimal irritation. Each razor costs about fifty cents and gives me ten to twenty good scrapings – that's less than a nickel for each shave. Simple, effective, and kind to both my skin and my wallet.

Special day deserves a special soap amd this Vetiver lover chose Black Tie’s Black Velvet.  I am always impressed with the easy lather Black Tie offers.  This will always be among my favorite scents. Enough so that I also have the EdP
