Indigo (Mammoth) blueberry oud
Shave 1 ・ 129 g

Notes: black pepper, blueberry, rum, vetiver, oud, night sky

That’s a dozen shaves with Mammoth's Tusk base. If I’ve ever had any better, I can’t remember when. The lather is thick and slick without feeling heavy. It’s not greasy at all, but it still gives fine protection from the sharp side of the blade. I get three painless passes day after day. And it finishes smooth, clean, and plump. Tusk may be the best base I’ve ever used.

Indigo smells like blueberry oud. That’s a fairly common combination nowadays. Seems like many of our best soap cookers have come up with a version: Ishtar (Abbate y La Mantia), Dragonsbeard (Ethos), Muir(e) Woods (Barrister & Mann) – to name just the first that come to mind. What I like about Indigo is its volume. It’s not in least overwhelming, but there are still enough layers to hold my interest while I do my scraping.
