Right now all I picked up from the scent is the balsam fir note. When I first opened the tub I picked up a scent that was not woodsy, but it was fleeting and only once. So starting with just that fir note is fine with me as I love these types of scents. I think I need to get blackberry in my head first then sniff the tub to see if I can imagine that scent. I've eaten a lot of blackberries in my life, but I can't say I ever gave the scent of a blackberry much thought.

A few days ago, I noticed mostly violets and vetiver – a lovely springtime scent. Today, leather and tobacco come to the fore. It’s fascinating to observe the fragrance evolve right under your nose as you scrape away your whiskers. Two twists of the menthol mill added a refreshing chill without overpowering the scent.
