This soap is soft, and the lather begins a bit goopy, sort of like Barrister’s Reserve base. But with plenty of water, it transforms into a dense, low-structure foam that’s completely free of bubbles. It's impressively slick with ample cushion, allowing for comfortable three-pass shaves without any irritation. Haven’t enjoyed that for a long time. Duck fat gives it a certain softness and spreadability. I’m finding it works well with a wide variety of brushes, even the greedy ones.

It also pairs beautifully with many razors, but my best shave so far was with today’s Overlander, fitted with a Nacet blade. The soap’s exceptional slickness and cushion provided a pain-free, irritation-free experience. I believe the base is crafted by Chicago Grooming, formerly Oleo Soap Works, while the fragrances come from House of Mammoth. It’s a perfect collaboration, blending expert craftsmanship with inspired scents.
