Shave 20

It’s the first full day of autumn here in the northern hemisphere. I’ve been saving this old puck of Cade for just this moment. A woody scent that perfectly suits the season, Cade is a blend of juniper and rosemary, conjuring up the fresh, earthy air of Provence without getting all perfumy. Infused with juniper oil and shea butter, this old version of the soap (ca. 2018) creates a smooth, cushioning lather that lets the razor glide easily. While it takes a bit of work to build, the lather provides enough protection to keep irritation at bay. Even without tallow, it leaves the skin feeling soft. Since I bought this soap six years ago, I’ve logged twenty shaves, and I expect to get at least 250 more. (My first puck of Cade lasted nearly four years in a short rotation of three soaps. Nowadays, with so many more soaps on the shelf, I hope to get fifteen years out of this puck.) Cade is as durable as it is delightful – a steadfast companion for the changing seasons and a perfect way to welcome the crisp days ahead.

FINALLY, one I can get behind and actually smells like what it's named and the label art shows. No, you have to be an expert scent connoissuer to appreciate it and if you don't, you're unrefined.

Haha!

The scent is beautifully peachy, featuring several natural peach isolates. While it's not subtle, it carries a soft, delicate presence. It's straightforward and never overpowering or complex Smile
