Lochranza (Arran) aquatic cologne
Shave 3
I had a really nice shave with Lochranza yesterday, so I thought I'd enjoy it again today. Once more the lather was thick and creamy with ample cushion. The finish was sublime – very smooth for at least twelve hours. And the scent, though it didn’t last long, was fresh in a windswept sort of way. I’m having a hard time describing it, but I think the picture below pretty much sums it up.

Le Grand Chypre ("dirty, resinous citrus" - Gabriel A.) – Barrister and Mann
Vetiver Guerlain (citrusy earth) pairs so naturally and so well here, I expected to see vetiver upon reviewing Le Grand Chypre's scent notes.
Nope. (Maybe the oakmoss and patchouli are throwing some dirt . . . or some gentle earthiness.)
Gabriel, perhaps, overstates, but . . . I like his take . . . and this soap . . . and these scents.
However much you may acquire, you will always wish to acquire more; satiety is a dream which will always elude you. — Bertrand Russell on shaving soap
