Yo Sólo . . . has an earthy note similar to what I find in very clean vetivers. I believe the note I’m picking up is called geosmin. It's a compound found in various rooty smells like potatoes, beets, and vetiver. It’s that distinct, fresh aroma you notice just after the first rain, when the earth seems to come alive. That's the fresh earthiness I'm picking up in this soap.  — Bouki

What Makes Rain Smell So Good?

http://www.compoundchem.com/2014/05/14/thesmellofrain/

The primary compounds that contribute to this phenomenon are geosmin, stearic acid, oleic acid, and palmitic acid. While geosmin is mostly what our noses recognize, the accompanying acids make the scent volatile and detectable in the air (Bear & Thomas, 1966; Blanchette, 2015).  —  https://sweetgum.nybg.org/science/the-ha.../?irn=7527

Notice our soap-ingredient friends in that paragraph.  Could be wholly coincidental, as I think their presence in soap is for reasons of soaping, not scenting, but it is interesting.

Eufros Tobacco (bananas foster, electrical fire, solvent)

Killer, creamy lather; initially challenging, ultimately compelling scent.

The Estes eau de parfum from 345 Soap is another strange scent which strays from expectations.  Notes listed include orange, anise, peppercorn, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, ylang ylang, musk, and patchouli.  Red hot (candy) is about the only reductive summation I've come with so far . . . and that's not quite adequate.  Estes' assertive strangeness seems to let it ride along with the odd-duck Eufros much more readily than Latour's Cigar.

Yes, Swellcat, Eufros Tobacco was a bar I couldn't overcome. It smelled to Industrial for me. I couldn't give it the time it deserved to go to like it.... I passed it forward. Kudos to you for trying
