In college, a few of my friends lived in a small bungalow near campus that they dubbed "Entropy House." At first it was a pleasant place, but over time, it seemed to drain the energy from its inhabitants. Once-dedicated students began skipping classes, neglecting showers, and missing meals. As the year went on, disorder grew, and the atmosphere became increasingly chaotic. By the end of spring term, Entropy House had become a tangle of unwashed clothes, forgotten assignments, and drifting souls.
Today’s shave is dedicated to those men who have, in some way, jumped life’s rails — those who have strayed from the conventional path, wandered off course, or lost themselves in the confusion and chaos of life’s unexpected turns.
A good shave is a small act of reclaiming order, a ritual of renewal for those who once let go. We all have moments when life becomes unruly. It’s fitting from time to time to recognize the quiet courage it takes to find one’s way back.
