Løthur Namkha (amber, oud, rose, wood - Oud Palao by Diptyque)

Coincidental entry into ThurRoseDay, it’s also my first use of a Løthur product.  (A thoughtful seller of a small, used lot tossed in three ounces of Namkha as lagniappe.)

Scent strength is powerful—an eight or nine out of 10 would not be out of line—with only Pinnacle Grooming (another UK maker*) going this hard on scent . . . at least, in my experiences, to date.  The fragrance actually persists for a bit on skin, something I seldom-to-never notice with other soaps.

*I’m aware Løthur has been acquired by a US company, but this tub indicates made in the UK, and the intense scent strength is kind of amusing, given the stereotype of Americans being, um, unsubtle and over-the-top.

Lather created was very low structure, something like a shiny, creamy gravy.

First pass was not inspiring; (maybe more dwell time was needed).  It got better, though, with an impressive, persisting lubricity greasing the wheels of shaving progress.  I don’t need any more soap, but that apparent protective slickness has this house on my radar.

Post-feel is as good as I’ve experienced.  (A blend of alcohol aftershaves was used, along with two drops of patchouli, alum, and witch hazel.)

Results are BBS on cheeks, the closest shave in recent memory.
