Beauté Sauvage (Ethos) nag champa
Shave 2
I’ve never had trouble lathering Ethos soaps. So when I came across johnnylighton’s note (#5639) on how to build a good Ethos lather, I admit I skimmed over it and then turned the page.
Lately though, I’ve noticed a bit of a burn after my shaves. Was I doing something wrong? Should I follow Johnny’s suggestion to hold back on the water, just to see if that makes much difference? Turns out it does. I’ve been overwatering the lather after all. Today I left it on the pasty side while I worked it in my palm and only brought up the sheen after I had it on my face. A few trips to wet the tips of the bristles was all it took to make a shiny, protective lather. Great shave and no burn.
So where do we go from here? Well, Frank says, "A lot of painting the lather on after the initial swirling of the brush is suggested. This method will increase the slickness to a whole other level." That's what I'll work on tomorrow.

Amazing
This smoked chuck roast was amazing, as well:
Rarely eat meat but you really did that chuck roast properly
The char was the appeal. Serendipity, eh?
