I lament the loss of Fine Accouterments puck soap. I still have some pucks but when they are gone, they are gone and the new Fine soft soaps just don’t perform for me nearly as well. Fine does a ……fine…..job of duping popular scents and this puck is L’Orange Noir, the best Terre D’Hermes dupe ever. Great shave.

Lip, exactimundo. Great dupes and those little hard tallow pills lathered like Tabac. I too lament their reformulation. WTH are these guys doing leaving their winning formulas with tallow.

Shave 1
I’m awash in shaving soap. I have so many tubs, some have nearly been forgotten. I asked my spreadsheet to draw up a list of all the soaps I’ve bought but never used. It obliged. Then I dug them out of their hidden nooks and crannies and set them up tidy on a shelf. It's a lovely spectacle. I think I’d like to visit each of them before the end of the summer. There’s not a stinker among them.
This old but unopened tub of Bay Rum will lead the parade. One gram made enough lather for about fours passes. I stopped scraping after the first pass since my face was clean. Karve's Bison razor is very efficient on my boney old hatchet face. The remaining lather was spread on my chops and left to soak in. No need for an aftershave. A big spurt of St Johns Bay Rum finished the job, and now I feel swarthy and swashbuckling.

At $12.00 for a replacement puck, Fine triple milled tallow soap was, all things considered, probably the best soap on the market.
