I redistributed the soap in the tub to make loading easier. Out of curiosity, I weighed the soap before putting it back into the tub...about 10 grams. I'm thinking two more shaves at best and it'll be gone. 

Darn Magpies!  I’ve had a pair of Magpies around the place all spring and wondered what that might mean.  I enjoy Magpies coloration, curiosity, and intelligence and have had many hours of joy watching them catch grasshoppers etc.  I sure didn’t enjoy them stealing baby chicks though!  I was working at my desk and out of the corner of my eye saw a flash of black and white.  A Magpie had just flown inside one of my Blue Spruces.  I peeked out 5he window and watched as a magpie ripped a small fledgling bird to bits.  Murderous black hearted Magpie!  Hey, nature runs its course I suppose.  Anyway, not five minutes later a Magpie was back, with another victim.  Wow!  Some momma is heartsick.  I watched the Magpie and realized it was feeding some fledglings of its own.  Well, ok.  No need to interfere.  But then, not five minutes passes and BAM another bird bit the dust.  Well now, I have patience but these greedy Holstein birds are pushing my buttons!  Not only did they not “stay in their lane” by nesting out away from the house in the hedge rows and thickets, the darn things moved right in.  I’ve decided to allow them to raise their brood but after that they are being evicted!  Scarecrows, fluttering Mylar ribbons, plastic owls, whatever it takes up to and including TNT and C4.  I love the little songbirds.  I love the finches and tanagers and I’d been wondering where they have been.  Darn carnivores in the neighborhood made their rent too high.  Get ready Magpies! It will be war!

Rhapsody smells like spring and takes the hate out of my heart.  Might be using it for awhile.  The brush is one of my son’s first and sports a mixture of badger and boar and is just excellent.

Bluejays like to eat baby chicks too.  I had a similar experience as you when I lived in Atlanta.  I was sitting on my back patio and I watched a Bluejay raid a nest.  We also had a resident pair of Broad-winged Hawks in our neighborhood.  Believe it or not, within a week one of the hawks killed a Bluejay and had a bit of dinner with it while sitting on a big limb in my neighbor's yard.  I took the opportunity to drink a beer and celebrate a small victory for the small birds.
