Lochranza (Arran) herby cologne
Shave 1
Patchouli and anise is what the box says. Sounds intriguing and exotic. But what I actually smell is more like deodorant – Old Spice Timber with Sandalwood comes to mind. For a warm spring afternoon, the fragrance smells clean and fitting, but it’s not the earthy, spicy cologne I was hoping for. In fact, I don’t really detect any patchouli or anise. Since this is only my first time using the soap, I may not have given it a fair chance. Hopefully, I’ll pick out those notes next time.
The soap base seems to be made by the same people who produce Floris’ No. 89 and Elite, as well as Truefitt & Hill’s Apsley hard soap. Lathering was easy. I started with a fairly dry brush and gradually added water. The lather wasn’t heavy and glossy, but it was slick enough for a pass and some clean-up.
