One of the half dozen vegan soaps I actually use and like. Great base for a non-tallow puck.

Argos was the name of the mythical man who built the first ship. He was helped by the goddess Athena, who gave him the tools and the know-how. His ship, which he modestly named Argo, was made of the finest timber and fitted out with a sail and fifty oars. The prow could navigate by itself or give the sailors directions. The crew included all the greatest Greek heroes: Jason, Hercules, Orpheus, Theseus, and many more. They set out on an epic adventure to retrieve the golden fleece.

Following in the wake of the Argonauts, I'm embarking upon odyssey of my own. This journey, however, requires no sea-swept voyages nor duels with dragons and sirens. This epic will unfold over the tepid water of my sink. My quest? To see this tub of soap through to its foamy end. It promises to be an endeavor of quiet valor, a testament to domestic heroism. My dispatches will be posted in the thread “The Voyage of the Argos” in the Videos & Journals section of DFS. Come along if you like.

My recollection is:

Argo was the name of the ship of Jason searching the golden fleece

Argus was the ship's builder

Argos was Odysseus' faithful dog whom he ultimately betrayed upon his return

Argos was also a polis

However will concede haven't read much Greek mythology in the past decade or so although they sitting on the book shelf.

Hard to say what JabonMan had on his mind when he named this soap Argos. I can think of nearly a dozen men from Greek mythology who sported that name. But I settled on Argos son of Arestor, the builder of the ship Argo, just because I like the story of the Argonauts. In Greek his name is written Ἄργος. In Latin it's spelled Argus.
