Magnifico Hard Soap (Abbate y La Mantia ) eucalyptus honeysuckle
Shave 3

The first day of spring is finally here, and there’s nothing like a little sniff of honeysuckle to welcome the new season. Along with floral notes there’s a nice pinch of eucalyptus and menthol, making this chilled soap a pleasant companion as the warm weather returns.

The other day I finally got a stainless steel Overlander with a Tech handle just like HoosierShave’s! Fact is, for a long time I’ve been drooling over his posts, especially the ones that feature his SS Overlander front and center. But I have to admit, I’ve struggled to get a consistent shave with these Overlander razors. Maybe I’ll stick with this one for a few days in an effort to improve my technique. Tips welcome!

Congratulations Bouki!  My hope is that you find it as enjoyable as I do.  It is a very smooth razor, more so than the brass version as it seems to glide a bit better.  For me, I really enjoy the Astra blades and tend to ride the top cap for smoothness.  It isn’t the most efficient razor…I only get BBS with 3-pass shaves.  But I’m more than willing to give up efficiency for smoothness.

BTW, I had planned to use it for 30 straight shaves before using other razors.  After about 50 shaves, I’m just now starting to pull out other razors.  But the SS Overlander keeps calling my name Smile

Haven't used this in awhile, performance not quite up there with some of the current artisan bases available today but it's still solid. What was concerning though is the irritation/burning on my skin. Not sure why as it never used to bother me at all
