Frank, you have the best fragrance oils in all shavedom – the brightest bergamot, the boldest lavender, the richest rose, the truest tonka, and some fine moss and vetiver. Have you ever thought about dumping them all together? You could make a fabulous fougère.

Thank you so much for the kind words. As you know I’m partial to using naturals as opposed to synthetics . As far as a Fougere I’ve been working on one for about a year here and there when I have time to play using some natural aromatics and I think I have it just about where I want it to be. So it’s definitely on my bucket list to release this year. Once released my mind it should be a standard scent that’s offered year round like my standard aromas Lavender Supreme and can’t forget Succès as they have been with me since the beginning and are still steady sellers. I know there have been many variations of Fougeres but I’m more into the history and the beginnings of the original Aroma blend and doing it using all Essential oils and Ansolutes. An thanks for bringing this subject up. Makes me want to move this one along.

Best regards and enjoy your Sunday!

Frank

Dan a true Fougere is completely void of Sandalwood my friend.

I’m beginning to think you are getting Sandalwood paranoia syndrome.  Big Grin

LJDJ Barberia

Classic barbershop: Fragrance from the Aromatic Fougère olfactory family inspired by the classic perfume Drakkar Noir.....

Top: Bergamot, lemon, lavender, mint, rosemary
Mid: Cinnamon, jasmine and coriander.
Base: Leather, oakmoss, patchouli, sandalwood, vetiver, spruce

I have been fortunate enough to load up over the years in this base. There were a few I was missing either through availability or in attentiveness. I found Jose's contact info on Instagram and emailed him. He responded immediately and provided a soap catalog in pdf format. I filled in my holes, picked up some newbies as well. His base gets tweaked a bit per version, but most of the time - tallow, shea, lanolin, kokum, jojoba, and kaolin are in the pux.

Really really slick and low profile okra snot. Love the stuff. He has some really solid homage efforts with the Fig [Dyptique Phyllosikos] and Rose Oud Altamira [Dyptique Palaos] as standouts.

Several of the big shops have solid inventories. [Image: 3c6a6c6afa7f7abf45b7ec11b07b5651.jpg]
