That was quite an interesting shave Dave. It brought back some memories as I remember seeing a whole bunch of Burma Shave signs along Route 66 back in 71 when I went on a road trip from NY to CA . I’m thinking that maybe the creams it may have had competition with were Barbasol, Palmolive and Old Spice creams come to mind. As you mentioned Gillette used the same heads and handles in different finishes. I really enjoy the President in as it’s a nicely efficient and butter smooth shaver for me. By the way that’s nickel plated but the doors were Rodium if I’m remembering correctly.
