Will is nothing if not bold on his scent choices and although his classic line-ups are crowd pleasers, some of his seasonals are polarizing. Diamond for example. Many hate it….I love it. Midnight Cowboy was a blind buy and from the description seemed right up my alley. Although I admittedly don’t know what cipriol, copaiba, and opobonax are, I do know sandalwood, pepper corn, and nutmeg. “Rasped wood” makes an appearance that I don’t understand…..but then I’m not Jolene’s brightest boy. At any rate, the ingredients I don’t know are from trees as is nutmeg and rasped wood so I’m thinking……woody. Instead I get floral. Albeit masculine floral there are flowers in it and I sort of get cologne on a smokers shirt sort of vibe. Not sure about this one yet. Diamond and Rhapsody had to grow on me so perhaps this one will too? I don’t find the peppercorn in it though.
Much like you, i was a little baffled on the scent for this one. But by the 2nd or 3rd time I'd used it, the sandalwood really started to pop on it and i now find it an intoxicating scent...especially with those florals woven in

Mr. Dan Law knows I like smoke so he kindly send me a tub of Lakewood Soap Company’s Smokeberry. I must admit, Lakewood has not been on my radar because I’m more focused on enjoying what I have than seeing what else is available but I will say it is still exciting to try new stuff and this stuff shaves great. The scent? Think nordost, the citrus scent is just made deeper by smoke. It’s not smoky. This Smokeberry to my nose is much the same. Like taking the capo off the neck of a guitar, the song is the same, just in a lower register. The berry is the star, the smoke is in the background keeping the tune in the pocket. Very nice. Thanks Dan.
