Ahhh. The Dart as well as the La Aventurra!

The Dart is a different animal. I’m still not sure how I feel about it, and I’ve had it awhile. One thing is for sure, it’ll teach you about angle and pressure in a hurry.
I loved the aesthetics and balance of that baby. But I butchered my skin with it. I couldn't handle it. Miss mine but can't say I got clean shaves with her. . I am definitely a mild razor head guy. Exposure and gap low for me!

Apsley (Truefitt & Hill) Terre d’Hermès
Shave 1

Truefitt & Hill’s hard soaps have been a great disappointment ever since they reformulated about a decade ago ... that is, until they released Apsley – and only Apsley – in a different base. This is the same base as Floris’s recent hard soaps, the same as Arran’s stony soaps too. It makes a good vegan-style lather that’s ideal for a one-pass shave, and it smells nice. I only wish Truefitt & Hill would release all their soaps in this workable base. They have some very nice fragrances, and I like the elegance of lathering up from a well turned wooden bowl.

For the most part, I agree with the thought that “A razor is a razor, a blade is a blade”. I can get a great shave with the Dart…so long as I’m careful. A mindless shaver it’s not. Shane did create a nice piece of work with the Dart, yet I fully get why not many embraced it. There’s a decent chance mine will be sold off eventually.
