I love Cella, it is my winter/cold weather soap.  Lea hard puck is my summer soap so naturally I am interested in your opinion of the Lea aftershave (which I do not have and is hard to find)!

Thanks in advance for your response.

I have no experience with the Lea soaps, so I can't comment on whether the scents are the same (or at least similar). I find the aftershave to have a nice amount of oakmoss, although it's still refreshing. The scent doesn't last long at all. That can either be a pro or con, depending on your preferences. It does seem to have some goodies for the skin, as it always leaves my face feeling soft.

I didn't realize that it was difficult to find, and it turns out, you're right. Everyone is sold out. I *think* mine came from Pasteur's (currently sold out). Hopefully it's just a temporary shortage, as it's nice stuff. Good luck scoring a bottle!

Lea hard puck soap has almost no scent. It is supposed to be sandalwood and vetiver but it is very faint. It is now a non-tallow soap and performance is just OK. It is lightly mentholated which I like for warm weather. It is triple milled so it does last forever, favors blooming and a broken in boar brush.

Clay Face

Cade (L’Occitane en Provence) sweet juniper
Shave 18

This is the first time I’ve managed to use the Plisson pour L’Occitane brush with the L’Occitane Cade shaving soap. I finally get it. This is a match made in heaven. With the other brushes in my stable, this soap gives uneven results, but with Plisson’s soft and mushy knot, the lather comes out something tremendous. Oh, and the fact that I bloomed the puck for two hours may have something to do with it, too.

I should note that I’m using a puck of Cade dating from 2018. More recent versions of this soap are rumored to be a bear to lather, no matter the brush.

Cella
TommyCarioca I was hoping to finish the Cella off by the end of this upcoming week. As of now, it seems that might not happen.
