Old Spice

Saturday is barbershop day - self inflicted haircut [9mm all round], neck shave, ear shave, nostril shave, eyebrow shave .

So I try to use Tabac, Old Spice, Clubman, or another bbshop puck with a bbshop handle. Amazing how nubby an old man can get in 7 days. I figure i have saved 500 bux per year for 25 years doing this myself... should I buy more soap?

FS, that is certainly Rob's style and shape, even the knot looks like a Fanchurian. But it is from a French Canadian artisan I found on Etsy. He makes a handful of brushes annually - not prolific but high quality.... Francis Dubois as I remember.

Ahhhh....yes. You told me about him before, and I have his site bookmarked. The banding towards the bottom threw me off. That's classic Rob. Nonetheless, that's one fantastic brush!

Marduk (Abbate y La Mantia) menthol cactus
Shave 1

This shaving soap has a good amount of eucalyptus in it along with a dollop of menthol. It reminds me of Proraso green, but it’s gentler. I also sense a bit of wood, but surprisingly I don't pick up the blueberry or currant. But this is only shave one. The fruity bits may surface only after a few uses. Marduk is part of Abbate y La Mantia’s Babylon series, and like the others, it’s nice to my face and interesting to smell. Plus, it has a lot of Shea butter for a great finish.
