Tommy that is one good looking shave. The wooden bowl has a great grain to it and that razors a beauty! Your right Cella hasn’t changed and I’ve had my currant puck for about 3 years now.
I copied you Frank. Thanks man. Yeah, the bowl was made by a young fellow here in KY. He had never turned anything with lids. I asked for 7 all from local trees. The one in the pick is spalted Hackberry. In Texas the Hackberry is a small tree. Here in ky they can get very large. Most people here think they are trash trees as they grow fast. I love them because of that, and birds love the berries. We cut one down near our house that was 6.5 feet in diameter [pic of the upper portion] . An old beauty...hit by wings and lightning and she had become a danger. [Image: 39a3f0c2907ec6b645903fc19130c9a7.jpg]

Tommy they may call that a trash tree but I like the color and the grain. Thanks for sharing the story.

Agrumes is the French moniker for the zesty wonders we call citrus. So where did it come from? Citrus fruits like grapefruits, oranges, and lemons started in Southeast Asia, around India, Malaysia, and China. As the wheels of commerce turned, citrus embarked on a grand tour, traversing trade routes across the Middle East and Mediterranean. The Greeks and Romans with their flair for luxury cultivated these fruity gems, deeming them symbols of wealth and employing them liberally in both kitchen and apothecary. From Italy the tart fruits spread to France and Spain and then eventually to the New World.

Different varieties of citrus are easy to cross, and the offspring can be more interesting than the parents. For instance, the sweet orange, whose juice you drink with breakfast each morning, is thought to be a hybrid of pomelo and mandarin.
