Thu°Rose°Day. Except, this isn't a rose soap. I'll get back on track soon, when this tub, and maybe one more is kicked.

Vulcano (Abbate y La Mantia) garam masala
Shave 2 ・ 142 g left

Vulcano – remarkable both for its jet black color and its distinctive fragrance – is supposed to smell like chili pepper seeds. As an avid cook with a thing for fiery foods, I’ve enjoyed the wonderful earthy scent of chili seeds countless times as I toasted peppers on a comal or ground them in the blender. However, the aroma coming off this soap is something different. What I smell mostly is lemon, camphor, nutmeg, and black pepper. When I take another deep sniff, I get the robust essence of chilis, but intriguingly, there’s an absence of the expected heat. Instead, the fragrance unfolds as a curious interplay of sweet and floral and spicy notes that reminds me more of an Indian curry than a Mexican mole. I like it very much, but it’s quite different from what I expected.

FaceScraper, watching you dissolve that tub of Ingress is fascinating. It's like contemplating an ice sculpture as it slowly melts under the warm summer sun. Keep it up.

gone to Carolina in my mind
Thu-Rose-Day (a few minutes late  Rolleyes) ...  This was my second ride with MacDuff's Wild Rose.  I realized the first time that I did not have the soap dialed in quite right, but everything fell into place this time, and the shave was excellent.

Sir Henry's Bay Rum "Island Estate"

I like to do a bay rum soap run from Pearl Harbor day as we near Christmas. I have at least 7 in a row that get lathered up as we near December 25. I only punctuate the run with ThuRoseday.
